Inspiration came as the longing for my childhood sea became stronger with age. The natural reflection of light on water and the shimmering effect it has on a calm, flat sea is always reminiscent of my teenage years in a small and quiet fishing port where the sea was centre stage and a regular companion to my disquieted soul. Gazing at a vast expanse of shimmering water never fails to conjure some of that inner peace my soul still seeks.
